Respect for the Sami minority and reindeer herding
We strive to acknowledge and respect the rights of the Sami people, particularly regarding land use and traditional lifestyles. Our ambitions is to engage in meaningful consultation with the Sami communities, ensuring that their voices are heard and considered in decision-making processes. In matters of importance and when possible, seek to obtain free, prior, and informed consent for projects affecting their lands and livelihoods. Further, we should take proactive measures to minimize the impact of mining activities on reindeer herding practices. This includes avoiding critical grazing and migration routes and providing compensation or mitigation measures where impacts are unavoidable.
